Testimonials

Thank you Tile Cleaners ® for dealing with the solvent sealer I had and resealing my hallway; I know it's a pain but you did a great job. I will definitely call you again as I need help with my tiles in the office.

Paul Gold, Gold Coast, QLD

I was about to sell my business and wanted to clean and reseal my vinyl floors to improve the looks of them before having people over for inspection of the property. I did a booking with another company but was horrified when I realized that my floor was back to its horrible look in less than two weeks. I carefully looked up other cleaning companies, scared that I would chose the wrong cleaning company. A friend of mine recommended Tile Cleaners, but after what happened to my floor last time I got it cleaned I was really skeptic, but gave it a go. All I can say is thank you guys so much for a quick response and a good job. I sold the office and left your contact details with the new owner for future cleaning.

Brian Hook, Bayswater, WA

I noticed that some of the tiles in my bathroom walls were loose and the grout was coming off. I am a very busy so kept on postponing calling someone to fix it. One day I got home and the loose tiles were lying broken on the floor. Can you imagine my frustration? I rang my brother in panic and he gave me Tile Cleaners' contact details. I rang them straight away. The guys told me I needed a tiler and professional regrouting work done so I thought it would take ages to fix my problem. However they organized the work very well. I had my tiles fixed on Friday night the same week and the entire bathroom regrouted on Saturday. Thank you some much for your quick help; it was such a relief.

How We Can Help

Honing your floors is a fantastic way to virtually eliminate taxing maintenance requirements while still having the wonderful characteristic of beautiful stone surfaces in your home or business. Tile Cleaners® technicians can skilfully hone your limestone, marble, sandstone, granite and travertine.

Honing is achieved by mechanically resurfacing your travertine using diamond abrasives and water to obtain a uniformly honed surface sheen, creating a look that is low key and not too overwhelming as some people find with highly polished, glossy floors. Honing your surfaces can resolve issues with stains, chips, water spots, glass rings, cracks, etching and dull spots. Osborne's Tile Cleaners® technicians create a surface with a beautifully smooth, low sheen matte finish, leaving your travertine looking elegant and in its most beautiful natural state.

Honed travertine surfaces have a more satin-feel, smooth and velvety to the touch often more suited to casual, comfortable environments than more formal polished surfaces. Honed surfaces are also highly scratch resistant due to the lack of a glossy surface and when honed surfaces do become scratched, the damage is not obviously reflected. Honed travertine is popular in areas of high foot traffic and regular use including floors for the bathroom, living rooms, foyers and kitchen counters.

Resurfacing is an extremely skilled task that requires patience and experience. If not done properly and to the right depth it may only enhance the scratches and impurities. Regular Care

Natural stone is one of the most beautiful surfaces anyone can have in their home or office. A regular maintenance program using special care is vital if your surfaces are to retain their beauty.

Once liquids spill on the surface of a honed surface, wipe it immediately. To clean honed travertine, you should never use regular soap as it can seep through the surface and darken the area, instead use mildly abrasive household detergent. Never use vinegar. The acid in vinegar damages, actually etches and removes the surface of many stone types. After mopping, dry the floor with a cotton towel or use a sh-mop to remove the moisture and prevent water spots.

Polished Travertine Stone Tile Sample Sealer Osborne

Honed travertine can become quickly etched or corroded by acidic materials upon contact by common household substances such as soft drink, tea, citrus juice and acidic cleaning products. A travertine surface with a matte or honed finish needs to be as a rule, periodically cleaned and re-sealed by a professional and should be sealed with a deep penetrating, impregnating sealer, which avoids staining and reduces the effect of soiling, Australian made non-toxic Deepshield® Transparent Penetrating Sealer is highly recommended, non-slip and will last for up to 10 years.

Frequently Asked Questions

Indoor and outdoor, polished, matte finish, porous, pre-sealed, wherever you have tiles we have a restoration solution. External tiles, natural stone paver's, all bathroom tiles and wall tiles. Tile Cleaners® cater for each and every different type of surface you might have.

Honing and polishing produce fairly opposite results. Polishing produces a glossy finish while honing produces a more matte finish. Honed surfaces can hide some imperfections such as scratches, and some everyday dirt, whereas polishing will reflect light and imperfections more than a honed surface.

This will depend on the size of the area; larger jobs can require up to 3 days while honing a bench-top can take up to half a day. Tile Cleaners® do try to ensure work is completed within the same day to avoid as much disruption to your home or business as possible.

Yes, the mechanical resurfacing process used to hone your floors will remove all coatings, resulting in your floors being in an "as new" condition. Once honed, you should reseal your surfaces with a deep penetrating, impregnating sealer, which avoids staining and will reduce the effect of soiling.

Tile Cleaners® recommend our clients apply a long lasting water based sealer such as a quality product from Australia's Deepshield® range of sealer's to their tiles as soon as they have been resurfaced. Your stone will maintain its beautiful character for longer, while also reduce the amount of required regular cleaning.

Most of our procedures use water in order to minimise dust production. Honing will create a slurry, however by employing state-of-the-art equipment and our years of expertise, once finished your surfaces will be left in their best possible condition.

Tile Cleaners® technicians use the highest quality machinery providing the best solutions without compromising your surfaces. Tile Cleaners® prides itself on specifically catering for each tile variety and each situation with the highest degree of care. Stone based tiles are usually more porous requiring more attention than man made tiles, which is why its extremely important to use correct products and equipment to restore your tiles to their best possible condition.

Here at Tile Cleaners® we understand the importance of your family's safety, which is why Tile Cleaners® prefer to use non-toxic finishing agents as we not only want to protect your floors, but your families health too. Materials and agents that present potential health hazards are not in our product portfolio and never have been.

No, honing produces the opposite effect to having your floors polished. Honing will result in a smooth, matte, non reflective finish and will only appear shiny, or glossy where the honing process is followed by a polishing process.

Honing can provide a degree of slip resistance to your surfaces. Polished surfaces are often slippery when wet and honing is an excellent way to create an extra degree of safety. Please call one of our knowledgeable customer service for more advice regarding your surface.

Honing will remove scratches and stains and give a more uniform appearance to your surface.

Lippage is the term given to uneven tiles that are set higher than one another, which usually requires a more aggressive process than honing in order to create a completely flat surface. Grinding is recommended for excessive lippage.

Tile Cleaners® charge per square meter for each separate room. There is a price list on the Tile Cleaners® website for you to review. Before we begin our work we will measure each room individually, confirm the work to be carried out as well as confirm all costs with you.

We recommend that you measure each room separately. The simplest way to measure is by multiplying the width by the length. For example a room that is 3 meters long and 2 meters wide is 3 X 2 = 6m2 in total.

Tile Cleaning provides assistance with moving furniture during the floor sealing process. Their team of dedicated technicians is available to help with the relocation of furniture items that can be reasonably managed by one person, such as those with wheels or lightweight furniture like tables and chairs. However, it is important to keep in mind that while Tile Cleaning takes precautions to protect your belongings, they cannot be held responsible for any damages that may occur during the furniture moving process. To ensure the safety of valuable or fragile items, it is recommended to either relocate them to a secure area or properly secure them before the technicians arrive. By taking these necessary precautions, you can help ensure the safety of your furniture and minimize the risk of potential damage while the floor sealing process is being carried out.

Move all furniture and items off the floor so it is ready for when we arrive.
