I have several different freshly laid tiles in my new house. All pathways have stone tiles and there are marble tiles in the bathrooms and porcelain in the kitchen. Regular Terrazzo Care

Special care is required when cleaning terrazzo. Terrazzo tiles are generally porous, even when made with non-porous stone chips, and require sealing to protect them. Even factory pre-sealed tiles require an additional sealer after installation to protect the floor against stains.

Terrazzo should be sealed with a high quality penetrating impregnating sealer such as Deepshield® Gold, based on the latest fluoro-bond technology, which cures deep inside the pores of the stone leaving an invisible protective barrier that will result in maintenance becoming much easier. Unsealed or weakly sealed terrazzo will soak up oils, spills, and stains. To check whether your terrazzo is sealed, leave a few drops of water on the surface. If after a few minutes the water has soaked into the terrazzo, then it's time to reseal the stone.

Spills should be cleaned immediately. You should generally use only warm water and a mild detergent on your terrazzo floors and never use vinegar on terrazzo. The acid in vinegar can seriously damage and actually etch and remove the surface of terrazzo. After mopping, dry the floor with a cotton towel or use a sh-mop to remove the moisture and prevent water spots. Always dry your terrazzo floors as they spot very easily.

To measure the size of a terrazzo area, it is recommended to measure each area separately. The measurement can be calculated by multiplying the width of the area by its length. For example, if a room measures 3 meters in length and 2 meters in width, the total area would be calculated as 3 multiplied by 2, resulting in a total of 6 square meters. By measuring each terrazzo area separately and using the width by length calculation, you can accurately determine the total size of the area.
