Badly stained grout made our shiny white tiles in the kitchen look old and dirty. The kitchen is our gathering area for family and friends so we wanted to do something about the problem, and preferably get a result that would last for years. Thanks to Tile Cleaners our tiles now look brand new. Grout colour sealing was a great idea.

Grout Colour Sealing Paulls Valley - Perth

Grout Color Sealing

Paulls Valley Tile Cleaners® seal your grout lines with a quality colour sealer that will remain in excellent condition for years to come. Following a thorough cleaning of your tiled area an epoxy based colourant is applied leaving a consistent appearance as well as sealing the grout in order to prevent future staining. The epoxy based grout colourant comes with years of warranty against peeling, chipping, cracking or fading.

Grout can be lightened, darkened, or changed to a completely new colour to give a room a completely fresh new look. A variety of colours are available and an added advantage of grout recolouring is that the product we use also doubles as the highest quality sealer available allowing much easier cleaning of the grout in future.

After we clean & sanitise the tiles & grout and allow it to dry, we seal grout with our impregnating grout colour sealers. The grout absorbs the colour sealer into its pores, as well as creates a barrier against future staining. (Colour sealing creates a sanitary finish, easy to maintain and stains simply wipe off). Colour sealing preserves the beauty of the grout lines for years to come.

Grout can become stained with years of dirt and general cleaning products and can be impossible to clean to a decent standard. This is most common in bathrooms & kitchens.

We are able to re-colour badly stained grout or change the colour of existing and /or stained grout.

This process is done after the tiles and grout have been cleaned to aid adhesion of the specialist epoxy colourant which re-colours, seals and rejuvenates existing grout joints all in one process.

Paulls Valley Tile Cleaners® Grout Colour Sealing service is specifically designed and developed to bring your dirty old grout back to life and make it look BRAND NEW again! Once completed, your tiles will look completely rejuvenated and revitalised, leaving you feeling proud of your tile and grout just as you were the day they were first installed!

Frequently Asked Questions

Grout is a construction material used to fill and seal the gaps between tiles or concrete surfaces. It is typically composed of a mixture of cement, water, sand, and sometimes additives for color or improved performance. After tiles are installed, grout is applied to the gaps between them, and any excess grout is wiped away. Over time, the liquid grout hardens and provides stability and a finished look to the tiled surface.

Sealing your grout is highly recommended if you want to maintain the fresh and crisp appearance of your grout lines and preserve their original color. While some manufacturers may argue that it's an unnecessary expense, the benefits become evident when you find yourself scrubbing the grout lines on your hands and knees. Sealing the grout not only makes cleaning easier but also extends the lifespan of the grout, especially in areas prone to moisture and outdoor exposure.

There are different types of grout sealers available, but it is important to choose the right one for your specific needs. Generally, a penetrating sealer is recommended for grout as it can effectively penetrate the porous surface and provide long-lasting protection. Surface sealers or topical sealers are not typically recommended for grout as they may not adhere well and can result in an uneven appearance. However, if you are sealing the entire tiled area, a topical sealer can be used, and it will also provide some protection to the grout. It is important to select the appropriate sealer based on the specific requirements of your grout and tiles.

While sealing your grout will make it easier to maintain, it does not completely prevent dirt and grime from accumulating. Regular cleaning and maintenance are still necessary to keep your grout looking fresh and clean.

The lifespan of a sealer before reapplication is influenced by the type of sealer used. Topical sealers typically provide protection for approximately 3 years before requiring reapplication. In contrast, impregnating sealers are more durable and can last up to 15 years or even a lifetime when applied to vertical surfaces. However, areas with high foot traffic or frequent use may necessitate more frequent inspections and resealing to ensure ongoing protection. Conducting a water absorption test can help assess the porosity of the surface and aid in selecting a sealer with longer-lasting durability. It is advisable to refer to the guidelines provided by the manufacturer and consult professionals to determine the specific reapplication schedule suitable for your tiles and grout.

Yes you can and it is recommended to seal your grout lines especially if they are a light colour, this will save you the likely cost of having to regrout your tiles only a few years after installation.

Sealing is not a waterproofing solution. If you are experiencing waterproofing issues, such as leaks on balconies, simply sealing the grout will not solve the problem. In such cases, a more comprehensive solution like regrouting may be necessary.

If you are seeking a different aesthetic for your floors, you may consider color sealing as an option. Altering the color of the grout can provide a contemporary appearance without the need for extensive tile replacement. Darker grout shades are gaining popularity as they enhance the tile's visual impact and make dirt less noticeable.

Tile Cleaners® use a per square meter pricing system for grout sealing. You can find the price list on the Tile Cleaners® website for your reference. Prior to starting the work, we will measure the area, discuss the specific details of the job, and provide you with a confirmed cost estimate.

It is advisable to measure each grout area individually. The measurement can be done by multiplying the width of the area by its length. For instance, if a room has a length of 3 meters and a width of 2 meters, the total area would be calculated as 3 meters multiplied by 2 meters, resulting in 6 square meters in total.

Please ensure that all items are removed from the area that will be undergoing grout sealing to ensure it is ready for our arrival.
